Yoga Day: Celebrating the union between Mind, Body and Soul

To promote harmony between man and nature and adopt a holistic approach towards health and well-being, we celebrate International Day of Yoga on 21 june, 2015. The roots of Yoga Day can be traced back to Prime Minister Modi’s address to the UN in September 2014, where he said,” Yoga is an invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition. It embodies the unity of mind and body, thought and action.”

Saluting Motherhood

Today’s day is dedicated to honoring mothers and celebrate motherhood. A day to say thank you to our mothers. A mother, right from the time she conceives, she protect, care and guide her child in the path of life. The epitome of love and relationship between a mother and a child is undoubtedly the purest of all.

Take a Lead: Save the Earth

“The earth, the air, the land and the water are not an inheritance from our fore fathers but on loan from our children. So we have to handover to them, at least, as it was handed over to us.” Mahatma Gandhi
Earth our only home is in danger. As a result of global warming there is a rise in the earth’s temperature and oceans and atmosphere is heating up, glaciers are melting, hurricanes are occurring while there are certain areas that are facing drought condition.

Food Safety: Key to Healthy Living

Ever wondered if the delicious food you had just cooked could do you harm? Probably not. Most of us believe that it is only un-hygienically cooked food we eat outside that causes us to fall sick. But in reality our home cooked food also can make us fall seriously ill.

Water: The essence of life

“Water, water, everywhere, nor any drop to drink”

When Samuel Taylor Coleridge in the 17th century wrote this line in his poem “The Rime of the Ancient Mariner”, he was only describing the plight of the mariner in the midst of the sea. However this line seems to have found relevance and a new meaning in today’s date. Water scarcity as well as safe drinking water is a grave situation that the world is facing and needless to say demands attention from all.
