Founder & CEO, SEED CSR

An alumni of London School of Economics and a Chevening scholar, Anirban pioneered the setting up of SEED CSR in 2006, at a time when the government was still toying  with the idea of making CSR spending mandatory. Prior to forming /launching SEED, Anirban held the role of a Consultant within Ernst & Young where he provided Consultancy services for Sustainability services.
In recognition of some of his outstanding work, he has been awarded the Social Innovation Award, Singapore, 2016, NGO Leadership and  Excellence Award, 2015, Global CSR Award for Social Entrepreneurship, 2012, Entrepreneur for CNBC Young India Business Icon Award, 2011,  Business World Young Achiever Award, 2011, Skoch Financial Inclusion Award, 2011, the Best Young Entrepreneur Award in Social Sector SME Chambers, 2010  and Global HR Excellence Award amongst others.
To his credit goes building SEED CSR as a credible organization with potential to strategize, guide and implement large-scale CSR implementation projects prioritized through an evidence-based process, combined with extensive dialoguing with corporate clients. Steering the social enterprise and giving it direction, SEED CSR has its presence now in as many as 22 states. SEED under his leadership has been recognized by British Business Group (BBG) under the aegis of British High Commission India as a leading Implementation Agency for CSR activities.

Sujit Banerji, joined the board of SEED as a Director. He has rich experience in financial services and brings strategic leadership at SEED for overall growth of the organization. He acts as an independent advisor on corporate strategy to a number of companies in the finance and related technology sectors globally. In 2009 he completed a 33-year career at Citigroup where he had been a Managing Director since 1996, latterly serving as Head of Strategy and Institutional M&A for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (MENA). His career at Citi covered a number of regional roles including strategy, corporate finance and multinational clients across the MENA region. He has also served as the country and region head for Citi in India, and as the head of the corporate business in Thailand. Over the course of his career he has been based in India, Bangladesh, Belgium, Thailand and the United Kingdom and is currently based in Singapore. He was educated at the University of Poona (Pune) and the University of Bombay (Mumbai). He is comfortably bilingual in English and in French.

Founder and Director of SEED CSR, Romira Roy is a true Socioenprenuer., Her motto is to bridge the gap between deprivation and services through Corporate Social Responsibility, with primary focus on Women Empowerment and Skill Development.
A degree in Sociology Honours from Jesus and Mary College and Masters in Business Administration from International Management Institute (IMI) Delhi with specialisation in human resources, regional development and marketing, honed her understanding of management and the drivers of development.
Romira is part of the strategic leadership team and is responsible for bringing together people committed to the cause of social development who believe that CSR can be a powerful vehicle of change. As a Socio Entrepreneur she is a firm believer in corporate intervention in the social sector encircling CSR and philanthropic activities like improvements in the living of the deprived ones.
The idea for setting up a dedicated company that could work on social development projects aimed at providing better services to the disadvantaged, marginalised populations through organised channels of funding and implementation was an ambitious and indeed a successful one.

Jatin carries over 17 years of progressive management and leadership experience , with 10 or more years of Business Development and Operations experience having worked in corporates and development sector. He has a proven track record of Leading Growth, Innovation, Strategy & Execution
As Sr VP Partnerships and Operations he is responsible for sourcing, closing and developing strategic partnerships and Operations at SEED CSR.
His commitment, passion, and overarching desire to do good for the underdeveloped /marginalised community coupled with his extensive knowledge of the market makes him the perfect resource for SEED. His expertise lies in strategizing, developing and nurturing business and client relations.As Sr VP Partnerships and Operations he is responsible for sourcing, closing and developing strategic partnerships and Operations at SEED CSR.
Prior to SEED he has worked with Aid Matrix Foundation and National Institute of Management. Through his work experience, Jatin has gained expertise in corporate sales, communications, financial management and corporate social responsibility programs.
His diverse skillset and experience has proven extremely valuable in driving the business development strategy at SEED.

Our Bangalore office is headed by NC Venkatachari, an accomplished Senior Executive with 23 years of experience with Multinationals like Dell, Compaq, Wipro, HCL Infosystems. He received a Bachelor of from. He has been associated with Social Rural enterprise, Business development, Rural skilling and counselling and holds an outstanding record on innovation, strategic planning, execution, leadership & relationship management. His deep understanding of the Indian Market , strong customer focus and marketing acumen is instrumental in generating business for SEED CSR. He understands client business challenges and has a strong grasp on providing valuable solutions across platforms that drive business results.

Devika Chadha as Vice President of Operations and Business Development ,Mumbai has the knowledge and tools to effectively manage, analyse and design appropriate solutions relevant to the solve issues at hand. She has the ability to perform in demanding work environments and is active contributor in regular strategic decisions.
Over the years, she has been associated with well-known and reputed NGOs such as “Salaam Bombay Foundation”, “Sanskardham Vidyalaya for the Hearing Impaired”, “Bajaj Institute for the Hearing Impaired” (now DEEDS) and “Mel Jol Hum Bachchon Ka”.In a result-oriented and insightful career of over 21 years across the social sector, Devika has gained hands-on expertise and experience in strategy, setting up, scaling and heading practices/ verticals of an organization from the scratch.
Devika has the ability to foster collaboration and empower the team in order to drive excellence and deliver results in a constantly evolving global environment.

Sunandan Taneja has an experience of over two decades in successful execution of projects and significantly contributing in enhancement of the capacity & productivity of the organization.
In SEED CSR he ensures smooth functioning of administration and flow of program operations by liaising with the government departments and various authorities.

Aparna Singh

Human Resources

Aparna joined our team as Sr AVP-HR, having over 20 years of experience in Human Resource Management ,HR Consultancy including Recruitments, Business Development, Payrolls and People Management. She earned a Bachelors of Arts (Psychology )from Jesus & Mary College. Prior to her current role she was an entrepreneur having her own HR Consultancy Services.
On a national scale, Aparna has pioneered the concept of Outsourcing in India to various Government Enterprises and Multinationals. She has spearheaded contractual manpower requirements of IRCTC and other PSU’s of the Indian Railways amongst others and has an International experience of setting up HR for a Textile Manufacturing Company in China where she oversaw the global employee hiring, performance management and compensation practice.

As head of Human Resources, her role is to build a strong HR foundation for the company resulting in better productivity. She is responsible for defining and implementing processes, systems and policies

Throughout this process, Aparna has acquired valuable skills and a deep understanding of the HR process as well as people management skills, which will enable her to lead the team forward and provide the support needed by the SEED CSR team to achieve their goals.

Nitin Khera is a seasoned Accountant with almost 2 decades experience in the fields of Accounting, Taxation & MIS. He has expertise in regular accounting & tax matters, cost control and funds management.
In SEED CSR he handles accounting and compliances, and provides support to other teams in matters related to budgetary management, cost benefit analysis, banking, and optimum utilisation of funds towards achievement of business goals.

Hemant Arun Kapse works as AVP Operations in SEED. He holds  Degree  in Masters of Social Work (MSW) with 12 years experience in development sector. Prior to SEED he was associated with organizations like AAA (ACC), Kicons (Kirloskar), Center for Advocacy & Research (CFAR), Samagra International and has expertise in diverse field that ranges from Social Impact Assessment, Research, Training, Laisoning, Communication, Planning & Implementation of Financial Management and Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Hemant is responsible for development strategy, operations and ensures achievement of goals.

Swapnadeep a Post Graduate (Marketing) comes with over 9 years of experience in Market Research & Client Servicing.He has worked in both Rural & Urban research operations and analysis.He has hands on experience in primary and secondary research. Swapnadeep’s work with SEED includes monitoring and evaluation of various developmental projects in the country and preparing sustainable development reports
